Research Title
How stressed are Secondary 1&2 SST students compared to other Secondary 1&2 school students ?
Why is it focused
It is focused because it only targets Secondary 1&2 school students .
Explain why it is significant
Nowadays , people are so stressed that they start to develop extreme stress-related problems that might harm their health . Thus , it is important for us to know how stressed are our school's secondary 1&2 students compared to other school's secondary 1&2 students so that we will be able to try and help them by providing necessary assistance to cope with their stress and make sure that they do not harm their health .

Explain why is it feasible
As a fellow student , we are able to provide feedback to our school . Thus , we are able to help the students who are facing stress better cope with school problems .

Explain why is it manageable
It does not need lots of people to work on it and it will not take a long time .

Explain why is it accessible
Because students are everywhere and we can easily contact them and find out their problems to help them cope it .
State at least 3 sources of information that you will be drawing your research upon (3 web links)and why you choose them.
1. Wikipedia , it has information that previous researchers researched on and thus we can say that it has been proven right .
2. http://www.apa.org , It focuses on psychology  .
3. www.emedicinehealth.com , it provides easy-to-understand scientific approach information .

Research Title
With the new MacDonald craze and convenience of the fast food restaurant, many students especially in secondary schools like to go to MacDonald, are there more students who prefer to go in groups or go alone?

Why is it focused
The topic focuses only on secondary school students in uniform, meaning that wether after school they would like to go to the clementi mall macdonalds.

Explain why it is significant
Nowadays, a lot of teenagers head off to hang out at MacDonald’s and from this we can see if most teenagers socialise with their friends. This can tell us wether students nowadays are more sociable or loners.

Explain why is it feasible
It does not require much equipment or skill. It just requires some time to observe the teenagers.

Explain why is it manageable
It will not need a large amount of people, equipment and skill. It just requires a small amount of time.

Explain why is it accessible
The Clementi mall is in Singapore and there is a MRT station near there.

(A) RESEARCH TITLE

“The monthly income of parents as indicators of their children’s mental stress in terms of grades in S1-01, SST Singapore . ”

(B) WHY IS IT FOCUSSED
It clearly states the target people, what we are looking for in those people.

(C) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT SIGNIFICANT
“It is significant as the future of our nation will depend on their attitude, which is manifested and easily affected when they are in their youth.”

(D) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FEASIBLE
“It is feasible because it is easy to do as we have contacts that we can do experiments on. It is also convenient now, as we have so many social networking sites that we can use to keep in touch.”

(E) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT MANAGEABLE
It is manageable as we will be surveying the students in Singapore and in our group, we
can survey people whom we know from the range of ages like our cousins, students from our previous schools, etc. that may still be studying. And, we can give different responsibilities to each member.

(F) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT ACCESSIBLE
It is also accessible as we know students from our primary schools, as well as our siblings or cousins who might still be studying now, so we have a range of people that we can observe, survey, interview and experiment on.

(G)STATE AT LEAST 3 SOURCES OF INFORMATION THAT YOU WILL BE DRAWING YOUR RESEARCH UPON (3 web links) AND WHY YOU CHOOSE THEM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_(biology)
We can use the information about stress like the types of stress, how stress come about, and how we can deal with it.

http://www.econ.ceu.hu/download/BESS/19Nov09.pdf
This document contains information about effects of the parent’s social-economic status on their
children.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2008/mar/19/medicalresearch.health
This shows how parents give their children stress.

http://www.msd.govt.nz/documents/about-msd-and-our-work/publications-resources/research/influence-parental-income/influence-of-parental-income.pdf
This book was written by a writer who collaborated with the Ministry Of Social Development on how parental income affects congitive test results of their children.

(H) STATE YOUR TYPES OF DATA COLLECTION AS IN TIP5
We will use the types of data collection which are:
(a) To make generalisations about a target population by using SURVEYS
(b) To gain an in-depth and holistic understanding of an issue or about a group of people by using INTERVIEWS
(c) To examine a particular behaviour by using OBSERVATIONS

A) A STATEMENT OF YOUR RESEARCH TITLE
Does your favourite teacher influences you and increase the results of that subject in SST?

(B) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FOCUSSED
It is focused as we are only focusing on the area, SST

(C) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT SIGNIFICANT

We will break the myth on the favouring of teachers will allow you to be better in that subject.

(D) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FEASIBLE
The title is not too broad so the data collection is not too hard. As we only need to create the survey and ask people to fill them in.

(E) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT MANAGEABLE
The data collection can just be done in the internet so we can collect data without having the need to go out.

(F) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT ACCESSIBLE
We got the instrument and the data collection should be quite simple.

(G) STATE AT LEAST 3 SOURCES OF INFORMATION THAT YOU WILL BE DRAWING YOUR RESEARCH UPON (3 web links) AND WHY YOU CHOOSE THEM.

  1. STATEMENT OF YOUR RESEARCH TITLE
The effects of the amount of time spent on the Learning Device on 20 SST Secondary One Students' Eyesight. [10 boys 10 girls
  1. EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FOCUSED
We are studying solely on the effects of time usage on the LD on eyesight. (with a small scope of 20 sst sec 1 students )
  1. EXPLAIN WHY IS IT SIGNIFICANT
SST students might be spending too much time  on the LD and thus deteriorate their eyesight, causing an irreversible change to their eyes.
  1. EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FEASIBLE
The data can be collected through our peers, right here in the SST community, thus, it would be easy to get people (as they are our peers/friends) who are willing to be surveyed by us and there is a high chance that they would remember their eye degree, as well as time spent on the LD.
  1. EXPLAIN WHY IS IT MANAGEABLE
The scope is manageable because there is a limit to the number of people being surveyed.
  1. EXPLAIN WHY IS IT ACCESSIBLE

The data is within our reach to be collected, the required information can be provided by the people surveyed.
    1. STATE AT LEAST 3 SOURCES OF INFORMATION THAT YOU WILL BE DRAWING YOUR RESEARCH UPON (3 web links) AND WHY YOU CHOOSE THEM.
1.The students in SST : The data is easier to be collected.
    2. The web : The web is easy to access and contains alot of data. We can double check with other websites to check if the data provided is reliable. Wikipedia and such would be quite reliable too.
    3. Books : Books would be mostly accurate as it is published and known to the world, thus they would mostly take care that the information given is accurate.
    1. STATE YOUR TYPE OF DATA COLLECTION AS IN TIP 5
    1. (for the results and surveys etc.)
    2. (more about the eyesight, statistics, facts)
    3.  (more about the eyesight, and maybe some more supporting statistics)
